1Our Core Privacy Philosophy

KutCut is engineered from day one as a desktop-native application. Unlike cloud web editors that ingest and stream your private clips through centralized cloud servers, KutCut operates locally on your machine (macOS, Windows).

You do not need to upload your footage to our servers to edit, apply transitions, color grade, or render 4K files. When you close the app, your creative assets remain entirely inside your designated local storage directories.

2Information We Do NOT Collect

Your video files, audio tracks, voiceover recordings, photos, or images.
Your subtitle transcripts, script notes, or timeline text layers.
Your cut lists, project edits, timeline structures, or file paths.
Your biometric, camera, microphone, or system audio feeds.
Personal identification documents or mandatory cloud account credentials for offline editing.

3On-Device AI Engine & Speech-to-Text Captions

KutCut is designed to maximize local performance and respect creator privacy while delivering state-of-the-art editing features:

Keyframe Animation & Motion Engine (100% Offline)

All keyframe animations, bezier curve interpolation, motion tracking, masking, color grading, and video export run entirely on-device using your computer's GPU and CPU. No internet connection is required for keyframing or core editing workflows.

Speech-to-Text Captions (Internet Connection Required)

To deliver accurate automated subtitles across 20+ languages and 75+ viral styles, an active internet connection is required when generating speech-to-text captions. Your audio stream is processed solely to generate the requested subtitles and is never retained, used for AI model training, or linked to personal profiles.

4Information We May Collect

We only interact with limited, non-identifiable technical data to improve software reliability:

  • Anonymous Crash Diagnostics (Opt-In): If the application unexpectedly crashes, you may optionally send an anonymous call stack report to help our engineering team debug GPU driver conflicts.
  • Software Update Checks: KutCut periodically checks our release CDN to notify you when new feature releases or security patches are available.
  • Website Metrics: When browsing kutcut.app, basic non-cookie aggregated analytics (page hits, referrer domain) are captured to monitor server capacity.

5Cookies & Local Storage

The KutCut website uses local storage strictly for functional preferences (such as remembering your Dark/Light mode theme via kutcut-theme). We do not deploy invasive cross-site marketing cookies or sell retargeting data to advertising brokers.
