Top 10 Free Cinematic LUTs and How to Apply Them in One Click

A LUT (Look-Up Table) is a mathematical matrix that maps the raw colors and tones of your camera sensor into a stylized, cohesive aesthetic.

Whether you shoot flat iPhone ProRes Log, Sony S-Log3, Canon C-Log, or standard Rec.709 footage, the right 3D LUT can elevate mundane footage into Hollywood-caliber cinema in seconds.

We curated the top 10 creator LUTs included free inside KutCut's native asset library.

How to Apply & Blend LUTs in KutCut#

  1. Select your target clip on the timeline.
  2. In the right panel, open Color & Grading.
  3. Under 3D LUT, click the dropdown or drag any .cube file directly from your file manager onto the clip.
  4. Crucial Step: Never leave a LUT at 100% opacity! Dial the LUT Intensity Slider to 65% – 75% for a natural, non-crushed balance.
Pro Tip

[!TIP] Always perform basic exposure balancing (Lift, Gamma, Gain) before the LUT in the signal chain so your camera sensor's dynamic range feeds cleanly into the color transformation.
